New Tata Punch Variants Launched in India with Updated Design and Powertrain Options

Tata Motors has introduced the facelifted Tata Punch in India, marking the first major update since the model’s launch in 2021. The refreshed sub-compact SUV is priced from Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom), and bookings are now open nationwide. The 2026 Tata Punch brings exterior styling changes, new interior features, and additional powertrain options while continuing with its familiar compact SUV format.

Customers can now explore the updated model range at Malik Auto World, part of the malikgroup automotive network.

Updated Exterior Design Inspired by Punch EV

The Tata Punch facelift adopts several design elements from the Punch EV launched earlier. The front now features vertically stacked LED headlamps with redesigned LED daytime running lights enclosed in gloss black trim. The bumper receives a black finish with silver detailing around the air intake area.

In profile, the SUV gets new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, updated LED tail-lights are connected by a light bar across the tailgate. The rear bumper now includes a silver skid plate-style insert.

The facelift is offered in six colour options, including four new shades — Bengal Rouge, Caramel, Coorg Clouds, and Cyantafic — along with Daytona Grey and Pristine White. Tata Motors also confirms a ground clearance of 193mm and a water-wading capacity of 400mm.

Cabin Updates and New Technology Features

Inside, the Tata Punch continues with a familiar dashboard layout but introduces a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. The touch-based climate control panel has also been updated and is similar to the system seen in Tata’s larger models.

The SUV now features a new 7-inch digital driver’s display alongside the existing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additional features include a 360-degree camera system, an eight-speaker audio setup, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a 65W fast-charging USB Type-C port, cruise control, and a single-pane sunroof on select trims.

Extended thigh support has been added to both front and rear seats, and all occupants now receive three-point seatbelts.

New Turbo-Petrol Engine and Expanded Transmission Choices

One of the key updates is the introduction of a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 120hp and 170Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and is borrowed from the Tata Nexon.

The facelift also retains the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 88hp and the petrol-CNG option delivering 73hp in CNG mode. Both engines are now available with either a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox, with AMT newly introduced for the CNG variant.

Tata Punch Facelift Variants and Price Range

The updated Tata Punch is available in six trims: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished, and Accomplished+ S. Prices start at Rs 5.59 lakh for the base petrol manual variant and go up to Rs 10.54 lakh for the top CNG AMT version.

A single-pane sunroof can be added to the Pure+ and Adventure trims as an optional feature.

Safety and Practicality

The Tata Punch facelift continues its strong safety focus with six airbags as standard across all variants. Additional safety features include electronic stability program, hill hold and descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX mounts, and rear parking sensors. The model has received a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child occupants.

Boot space stands at 366 litres for petrol variants and 210 litres for CNG versions.

With its refreshed design, expanded variant lineup, and new turbo-petrol powertrain, the Tata Punch facelift brings notable updates for 2026 buyers across India.
